This data is a summary of approximate trail usage for the trails in Ogden and in the foothills above Ogden.
Introduction to Trail Counting
Ogden City and Ogden Trails Network Committee utilize trail counters to gauge visitation along trails and paved pathways. We use TRAFx counters that emit an infrared light beam that crosses the trail. When you or your bike, horse, stroller, etc. cross the beam, it detects the movement and counts you as you go by. These devices do not take photos or gather any other information other than approximate counts.
We use this information to help us plan for future recreation demands and to write grants for trails and recreation facilities. The following information Illustrates the data collected at each site.
